Full pack dimensions

  • 70 x 37 x 27cm (height x width x depth).

How is the capacity of a pack measured?
  • The capacity of every backpack is measured using a standard method: we fill the main compartment as well as every pocket with small balls. All the balls used are then emptied into a graduated container to measure the pack’s capacity in litres.

  • 3
How to pack a backpackPut sleeping gear at the bottom. Position heavy items (tent, stove, food...) close to the back. Clothes are placed around these. The mattress goes under the hood and a tent can be fixed underneath the backpack if there is no more space inside. Make sure your wind jacket and fleece are easily accessible. Use the pockets to store small items (sun lotion, map, sunglasses,...) that will be needed during the day. Usually, there is a compartment along the back for a hydration pack.
  • 4
How to adjust the back height:Position the adjustment at the appropriate assumed height then adjust the bag (see "How to adjust your bag?"). With the belt on your pelvis, the straps should go round the front part of your shoulders, and the load adjuster straps (sometimes also height-adjustable) describing an angle of around 45° (they must not go horizontally or vertically). If, in the test, the back seems too short or too long, readjust and try again, until you are satisfied.

Backpack technical tests:Backpack components are approved in lab tests: fabric, buckles, webbing, foam, zips... For example, fabrics are tested for resistance to wear, to tearing, colour-fastness in UV rays, repeated washing, waterproofing... A final test on the finished product simulates the kind of treatment to which it will be subjected over several years, to assess the strength of the assembly. The backpack is weighted then placed on a dummy that then reproduces a fast walking movement through thousands of cycles.
  • 6
The Symbium 3 systemThe Symbium 3 combines the advantages of the Symbium (freedom of movement) with those of the new exclusive system of 3 pockets easy to move to the front of chest: easy to access multiple objects during walk, and shifting weight towards the front when these pockets are positioned at front. Consequently this helps to better distribute the carrying load and therefore raise the back by approx. 4 degrees. This reduces stress placed on the back and the load is carried with greater ease

"Air Cooling" certification:"Air Cooling"-certified packs are laboratory-tested in order to assess the quality of their ventilation systems: a heated and perspiring mannequin is used to scientifically and objectively measure the pack's capacity to reduce perspiration. This label is only given to packs that perform significantly better than a "basic" model in the range (without any particular cooling system). We also compare them with rival products on the market.
