The comfortable, lightweight and flexible ERGOFORM PRO carry system provides optimal load distribution and good freedom of movement. It can be individually adjusted for a perfect fit and comes in anatomically designed versions specific to men and women.

All contact surfaces are fully padded, so that your pack remains comfortable even when fully loaded. We have combined large volume capacity with slimline design and there are plenty of organised storage options in the main section, base compartment, numerous pockets and pouches. Weather protective apparel, etc. can all be easily lashed to the outside of the pack for rapid access.

SUSPENSION SYSTEM ERGOFORM PRO

The ERGOFORM PRO carry system is lightweight, flexible and provides greater freedom of movement.All its components are anatomically designed. The angle of the waist belt can be adjusted for an individual fit and the shoulder harness anchor point can be easily fixed in the optimum position using the Velcro tabs on the back of the pack.

The ERGOFORM PRO system is available in men's and women's models – with different back lengths and geometry on the waist belts and shoulder straps.Further features:

- two anatomically shaped duraluminium rods deliver superb load stability, ensure that the pack fits the shape of your back and transfer weight to the waist. The bulk of the load is taken by the lavishly padded waist belt.

- the shoulder harness anchor point can be easily fixed in the optimum position using the Velcro tabs on the tape ladder at the back of the pack

- the waist belt transfers weight by lateral pressure on the pelvic bone

- adjustable side straps to fix the pack in the optimum position at the waist

- the lumbar pad is comfortably padded with a covering fabric to prevent friction

- the back pads are covered in a breathable mesh fabric and have ventilation channels, which prevents moisture build up

- anatomically designed S-shape shoulder harness with laminated foam padding

- adjustable straps to adapt the angle between the pack and your back

SNOW LOCK

A detail on our rucksacks. The upper opening of the rucksack is protected by an additional 'snow collar' made from a lightweight, waterproof coated polyamide fabric. This prevents water and snow from getting in when the pack is opened. On packs with extendible lids, the Snow Lock also provides a useful volume expansion option.

RAINCOVER INSIDE

A special compartment, usually located at the base of the rucksack or photo pack. It contains a waterproof PU-coated, sealed-seam rain cover in 210 D polyester. This can be pulled over the rucksack when required to provide effective protection from weather and dust without covering the carry system itself.

PREPARED FOR HYDRATION SYSTEM

This means the rucksack is compatible with the JACK WOLFSKIN hydration system. A flat format pouch on the inside the main compartment of the pack accepts a HYDRATION BLADDER. The pack also features an opening for the drinks tube and a clip attachment on the shoulder strap to fix the tube in position.

NAILHEAD 210D

Light, extremely durable nylon, used in our rucksacks. When viewed in cross-section, it has prominent projections resembling nail heads. In the event of abrasion, the nail heads protect the material underneath.

NAILHEAD is used in different strengths (Denier) on the pack and base sections of a rucksack, depending on what a rucksack is to be used for

DIAMOND RIPSTOP 210D

The technical RIP STOP polyamide fabric combines low weight with high stability. The thicker reinforcement threads of the DIAMOND structure give the pack a unique appearance and stop minor tears from spreading despite the weight of the weight of the fabric.

CHAINTEC 550D

Close-weave durable Polyamide fabric with very high ripstop and abrasion resistant specifications; ideal for use as the main material or on the base section of our trekking rucksacks and daypacks. We use it in 550 and 1000 denier thread strengths.

ALUMINIUM HONEY COMB

HONEY COMB means here that the rucksack carry system's aluminum rod is hollow on the inside. This saves a lot of weight, whilst still guaranteeing form stability.

A new line of hiking rucksacks with alpine design and mountaineering-specific features.

The ALPINE TRAIL packs incorporate many of the features found on our alpine rucksacks. For example, the SOS set, ice axe attachment, additional front pocket for equipment and lightweight, robust material. We have taken our most dynamic hiking pack carry system, the ACS TIGHT system, and adapted it for use in the mountains. A flexible shoulder harness provides enhanced freedom of movement – a handy feature for via ferratas, etc.

All models have a roomy main section, inner and lid pockets and side pockets. The two larger versions also come with an additional base compartment and feature dual access to the body of the pack. Our ALPINE TRAIL rucksacks have a slimline design to help negotiate narrow sections more easily.

The Crumpler Fourninety Daily camera bag has a very trendy, modern look that doesn’t scream ‘camera bag’ – helped by the fact it’s available in a range of colour combinations, rather than standard-issue black. It’s hard to fault build quality, with an excellent finish and plenty of padding.

It took all our standard kit, though we did have to remove the handy carry pouch to make room. Accommodating a large D-SLR with a grip could be a struggle, but there is a laptop section for anything up to a 14in model and plenty of pockets at the front. The latter can be slow to access though, requiring several zips and flaps to be navigated. If you don’t want to use the Fourninety Daily as a camera bag, the photo pouch can be removed for general use.

Though the strap is padded, it isn’t non-slip. Get it on your shoulder though, and you’ll discover what Crumpler call a tripod – an extra strap to stabilise the load. This works a treat, but only when the main strap is on your left shoulder, with the bag on your right hip.
