The DENALI is a robust, fully-featured and extremely comfortable trekking rucksack.
The tried and trusted ERGOFORM PRO carry system provides even load distribution over the shoulders and hips and has lavishly padded contact surfaces for enhanced carry comfort. It can be adjusted for perfect fit and comes in different back lengths and with anatomically designed versions specific to men and women. Duraluminium support bars and a wide, well-padded waist belt also help to distribute the load, ensuring excellent freedom of movement even with a full rucksack on demanding terrain.
Easy-access, multi-compartmentalised design for organised packing in lid, main compartment and base section with removable divider. DENALI also has plenty of pockets and pouches, numerous attachment and compression options and lots of other design features, such as dual access to the main compartment. The DENALI is a rucksack that gives a great handling and a comfortable carry on long treks.
MATERIALS
ALUMINIUM HONEY COMB
HONEY COMB means here that the rucksack carry system's aluminum rod is hollow on the inside. This saves a lot of weight, whilst still guaranteeing form stability.
CHAINTECH 1000D
A close-weave, durable polyamide fabric with very high tearstrength and abrasion resistance; ideal for use as a rucksack material, or to reinforce the base of the pack. We use both 500 and 1000 denier versions.
CROSS RIP 300D
A very light polyamide fabric with a high tearstrength rating. We use it for our Trekking and Hiking rucksacks. The light-weight nylon fabric is inter-woven with ripstop reinforcement threads every few millimetres. If the fabric tears, the rip is stopped by the stronger threads, hence the name: ripstop. This type of construction saves weight and is very robust. We use different strengths (Denier) of CROSS RIP, depending on what a rucksack is used for: - CROSS RIP 300 D: 300 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 3 mm, used predominantly for Trekking and Hiking rucksacks - CROSS RIP 450 D: 450 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 4 mm, used predominantly for Trekking rucksacks.
TECHNOLOGY
Dual Access To Main Compartment
On our large capacity rucksacks there are often two methods of accessing the main compartment: conventionally, beneath the lid of the pack or from the front via the external pocket. The latter option provides convenient access items of kit packed lower down in the rucksack.
Ice Axe Fixation
Ice tool/trekking pole attachment loops with a wide velcro closure flap which remains highly resistant to icing up. An additional woven loop makes them easy to operate when gloved-up.
The VELCROLOCK system is not threaded loosely though the daisy chain on the packbag but held securely in place by Velcro.
Prepared for HYDRATION SYSTEM
This means the rucksack is compatible with commercial hydration systems. A flat format pouch on the inside the main compartment of the pack accepts a HYDRATION BLADDER.
The pack also features an opening for the drinks tube and a clip attachment on the shoulder strap to fix the tube in position.
RAINCOVER Inside
A special compartment, located at the base of the rucksack.
It contains a waterproof PU-coated, sealed-seam rain cover in 210 D polyester. This can be pulled over the rucksack when required to provide effective protection from weather and dust without covering the carry system itself.
Snow Lock
A detail on our rucksacks. The upper opening of the rucksack is protected by an additional 'snow collar' made from a lightweight, waterproof coated polyamide fabric.
This prevents water and snow from getting in when the pack is opened. On packs with extend-able lids, the Snow Lock also provides a useful volume expansion option.
Suspension System ERGOFORM PRO
The ERGOFORM PRO carry system is lightweight, flexible and provides greater freedom of movement. All its components are anatomically designed. The angle of the waist belt can be adjusted for an individual fit and the shoulder harness anchor point can be easily fixed in the optimum position using the Velcro tabs on the back of the pack.
The bulk of the load is taken by the lavishly padded waist belt.- the shoulder harness anchor point can be easily fixed in the optimum position using the Velcro tabs on the tape ladder at the back of the pack.- the waist belt transfers weight by lateral pressure on the pelvic bone.- adjustable side straps to fix the pack in the optimum position at the waist.- the lumbar pad is comfortably padded with a covering fabric to prevent friction.- the back pads are covered in a breathable mesh fabric and have ventilation channels, which prevents moisture build up.- anatomically designed S-shape shoulder harness with laminated foam padding.- adjustable straps to adapt the angle between the pack and your back.- adjustable chest strap with safety whistle.
Trekking Pole Fixation
A special attachment on the outside of the rucksack, used for the secure lashing of trekking poles. A width-adjustable loop secures the pole basket and the shaft is then flipped over and secured to the pack with a height-adjustable Velcro tape.
