The EXPLORER DUFFLE has detachable padded shoulder straps and detachable compression straps on the lid to allow further weight saving. With the straps left on, it can be carried rucksack-style on the back, or by the two grab handles. 

Its sturdy, innovative design is based on a funnel-shaped fabric cut that requires fewer seams. This provides outstanding tearstrength performance and simplifies the packing procedure. The front pocket has a water repellent zip and the zip pullers on the main compartment can be secured with a padlock.

Jack Wolfskin's FLEXCONTACT carry system delivers optimal load control and freedom of movement on alpine terrain. NAILHEAD 420D
Light, extremely durable nylon, used in JW rucksacks. When viewed in cross-section, it has prominent projections resembling nail heads. In the event of abrasion, the nail heads protect the material underneath. NAILHEAD is used in different strengths (Denier) on the pack and base sections of a rucksack, depending on what a rucksack is to be used for.

Suspension System FLEXCONTACT
The FLEXCONTACT carry system was developed specifically for JACK WOLFSKIN's alpine packs. It combines superb load control with mobility.

Behind the flexible back panel is a HDPE back plate which stabilises the pack. Certain packs also incorporate a central aluminium stabilising rod.The back plate and waist belt padding can be removed to save weight and improve mobility.

The waist belt can also be stowed behind the lumbar pad, which enables the rucksack to be used as a super-lightweight soft pack when a climbing harness is worn.The shoulder straps are covered in breathable AIRMESH and contact surfaces have ventilation channels for optimal carry comfort.

MONTROSE – our new bike pack series for women.

The ACS TIGHT carry system is specially designed for high octane activities and tailored to suit the female anatomy. The carry system has also been overhauled for Summer 2011 to provide enhanced stability and improved ventilation.

Its generous pocketing allows plenty of storage options for all necessary equipment. Numerous additional details increase its bike-specific functionality, for example, helmet and pump attachment options, safety features and LED lamp attachment.

CROSS RIP 300D

A very light polyamide fabric with a high tearstrength rating. We use it for our Trekking and Hiking rucksacks. The light-weight nylon fabric is inter-woven with ripstop reinforcement threads every few millimetres. If the fabric tears, the rip is stopped by the stronger threads, hence the name: ripstop. This type of construction saves weight and is very robust. We use different strengths (Denier) of CROSS RIP, depending on what a rucksack is used for: - CROSS RIP 300 D: 300 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 3 mm, used predominantly for Trekking and Hiking rucksacks - CROSS RIP 450 D: 450 Denier fabric strength, reinforcement threads every 4 mm, used predominantly for Trekking rucksacks.

CROSSLINK PE

A special toughened polyethylene material, used as a back plate in our ACS TIGHT carry system. The back plate stops hard items pressing through without restricting freedom of movement. Ventilation openings prevent the build up of warm, moist air produced by the body.

NAILHEAD 420D

SUSPENSION SYSTEM ACS TIGHT

The ACS Tight system (ACS = Air Comfort System) is featured on our rucksacks designed for high octane activities. It ensures that the rucksack remains close to the body while allowing excellent freedom of movement.

The materials used are moisture and air permeable.A vertical channel allows warm, moist air produced by the body to escape upwards and keeps contact surfaces to a minimum.

Two flexible aluminium ribs help the pack retain its shape and flexible plates located beneath the back pad prevent hard items pressing through.
